SHOULDERS

CORE COMPETENCE

Shoulder conditions are notoriously poorly diagnosed and poorly treated, particularly with workers compensation patients. Clouding the picture further is the fact that sometimes even the radiological findings are equivocal and misleading, making the indication for surgery or conservative treatment unclear.

However, Link Rehabilitation's core competence is the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder conditions. Both Graham and Simon have extensive experience in shoulder management, having worked with numerous upper limb orthopaedic surgeons over many years at St John of God Hospital, Murdoch.

Graham and Simon are particularly skilled in determining whether surgical intervention is indicated, often saving patients from unnecessary conservative treatment. They can refer patients for appropriate diagnostic scans and also assist in organizing appropriate injection therapy as well as assisting in organizing specialist review.

Graham and Simon are happy to provide second opinions and assist in formulating treatment plans for doctors, allied health providers and insurers.

SHOULDER EDUCATION

Graham has been heavily involved in running education sessions and providing lectures for Curtin University, doctor groups, rehabilitation providers, exercise companies and insurers for over 20 years. He is particularly well known for his talks on frozen shoulders and Natural Shoulder Movement Patterns.
